Customer reviews
As an ice cream-loving family, we were getting tired of the constantly rising costs at the grocery store. So I decided to explore ice cream makers out of curiosity. The ability to control the ingredients really appealed to me, as I could make healthier, lower-calorie options while also experimenting with custom flavor blends.
This particular ice cream maker caught my eye because of its built-in compressor that allows for making ice cream anytime, without pre-freezing bowls. For the past two weeks, we’ve been churning out fresh batches daily – it’s that easy and convenient to use. Cleanup is a total breeze, taking just a couple of minutes.
To test it out initially, I made a base of just unsweetened almond milk, vanilla, and agave nectar. I figured if that tasted good, more indulgent recipes would be a home run. Sure enough, after dumping in those three simple ingredients and turning it on, the light, creamy results about 35 minutes later were delightfully enjoyable. That first successful batch opened up a world of frozen treat possibilities.

This ice cream maker is incredibly user-friendly. With just 5 minutes to combine the ingredients and 45-60 minutes of churning time, you’ve got fresh, creamy ice cream ready to enjoy. For a firmer texture, simply pop it in the freezer for a bit.
A quick note on the recipe booklet – the portion sizes seem geared towards larger machines, so you’ll likely need to halve the recipes to avoid overfilling the compact bowl. We made a classic vanilla base with milk and cream, as well as a pistachio version by crushing in some unsalted nuts and green food coloring for nostalgia’s sake. The pistachio was better than store-bought with ample nutty bites in every scoop.
The aluminum churning bowl efficiently extracts the cold from the outer freezer bowl when properly assembled without dents or moisture. Be mindful not to overchurn – once it reaches the desired frozen consistency, stop the machine, remove the dasher, and use the plastic spatula to scoop out the velvety ice cream clinging to the sides.
Growing up, my grandma made artificial peach ice cream that tasted like overly sweet chemicals. Decades later, I made the real deal with frozen peaches, cream, and eggs – an incredibly laborious process with ice and rock salt, but the taste was divine. This machine replicates that caliber of homemade frozen perfection with zero fuss.

This ice cream maker is an absolute delight to use and clean up after! Following the base vanilla recipe (I reduced the sugar slightly), it’s easy to customize flavors by adding mix-ins during the final few minutes or after churning. In around 50 minutes, I had 1.2 quarts of creamy goodness. A pinch of salt helps minimize iciness. Online recipes suggest adding a touch of liquid pectin next time for an even richer, creamier texture.
While my vanilla batch did turn out quite sweet, I’m so impressed by the ability to whip up fresh, healthier desserts on a whim! The built-in condenser means no pre-freezing bowls – just add chilled ingredients and let it work its magic for ice cream, custards, and sorbets.
A high fat cream is key, so keeping whipping cream or half-and-half stocked is a must. I used a vanilla bean for stronger flavor and those delightful specks. My daughter is obsessed and has already churned four quart-batches of various flavors within a week, including healthier fruit sorbets for my 3-year-old grandson.
Just be sure to have proper freezer containers on hand, as regular plastic storage tops can crack. This top-quality machine is also available at a great value compared to premium retailers. Both my daughter and I are in love with our new ice cream maker!
